Raiden Pure Malt Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Raiden Pure Malt is a Japanese whisky from Taikoku Shozu, a family-run Okinawa distillery established in 1952. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The malt whiskies in the blend are aged in hogshead and ex-old sherry butt. The warm subtropical climate and Pacific breeze of Okinawa are said to speed up maturation. The nose offers citrus, pineapple, banana and other tropical fruit. The palate is light, with delicate maltiness, ginger juice and oak, and the finish is mellow and sweet with a lingering light spiciness.
