Ramos Pinto 30 Year Old Tawny is a Douro Port blended from very old wines aged in oak for an average of 30 years, the oldest component dating to 1900. It is bottled at about 20.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle, after several months of rest in bottle.
The colour is amber with orange and garnet tones and green highlights at the rim. The nose shows dried fruit and vanilla, with cinnamon and cocoa released on swirling, and a touch of iodine and old leather. On the palate, almond and hazelnut give way to a fresh, ethereal lift and finish on liquorice.
