Rare Character "Hurst Knoll" 7 Year Rye Whiskey (50.5%)

Rare Character Hurst Knoll is a 7-year-old rye whiskey made from sourced high-rye Kentucky barrels, some of them older than the age statement. It is a blend rather than a single-barrel release. Rare Character's founder, Pablo Moix, developed it with cocktails in mind and tested it against Benedictine, sweet and dry vermouths, Campari and espresso liqueurs. It is bottled at 50.5% ABV (101 proof). The nose has caramel, orange peel, baking spice and herbal rye. The palate is balanced, with cinnamon, clove, toffee, light chocolate and a touch of citrus. The finish is clean and spice-led, with lingering oak and subtle sweetness.
