Red Spot 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It has matured for over fifteen years in a combination of American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks.
The nose combines pot still spices with cooked fruit, baked apple, mango and black cherry, along with hazelnut, a touch of new leather and toasted American oak. The palate has ripe fruit sweetness from the Marsala casks, then sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper, ending on American oak and barley. The finish is extra long, with fruit and spice.
