Red Spot 15 Year Old is a cask strength single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from malted and unmalted barley.
Over 15 years it matured in a combination of bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks. The Spot range comes from Mitchell & Son, whose family began maturing whiskey in wine and fortified wine casks in Dublin in the 1800s.
It is described as full-bodied, with bold pot still spice balanced by the sweet, fruity layers of the Marsala casks.
