Redbreast 12 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey distilled at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. It is the flagship of the Redbreast range.
The mash bill is malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills. The whiskey is then matured for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and first fill Oloroso sherry butts from Spain.
The nose is spicy and fruity with toasted notes, dried fruit, sherry nuttiness and vanilla. The palate brings spice, rich dried fruit, toasted oak and sherry sweetness with a creamy, oily texture, and the finish is long with toasted wood, dried fruit and pot still spice.
