Redbreast 18 Year Old is a Single Pot Still Irish whiskey made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 70cl bottle. It is the newest permanent expression in the Redbreast range.
Master Blender Dave McCabe has added cream sherry casks from Antonio Páez Lobato to the usual mix of bourbon, oloroso sherry and ruby port casks.
The nose offers dark berries, hazelnut chocolate and caramelised stone fruit, with polished oak and warm spice behind. The palate is full-bodied, with oak tannin around sweet fruit, ginger, liquorice and orange peel. The finish is long and rich.
