Redbreast Lustau Edition Sherry Finish is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery, made in collaboration with Bodegas Lustau of Jerez and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured first in bourbon and sherry casks for 9 to 12 years, then spent a further year in first-fill sherry butts seasoned with Oloroso sherry.
It is golden amber. The nose has prunes, dates, figs, liquorice, marzipan, toasted oak and spice. The palate is silky, balancing assertive spice with sherry richness and fresh Spanish oak, and the finish is long, sweet and spicy, with Oloroso and oak lingering.
