Redbreast Lustau Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in Cork, finished in sherry casks in collaboration with Bodegas Lustau of Jerez. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill-filtered.
The whiskey spends nine to twelve years in ex-bourbon barrels and sherry casks, then a final year in first fill sherry butts seasoned with Oloroso from Lustau. The mash is malted and unmalted barley.
The nose offers dark fruits, prunes, dates and figs with liquorice, marzipan and toasted oak. The palate is creamy and silky, with pot still spice set against sherry richness, and the finish is very long, ending on Oloroso and Spanish oak.
