Redbreast PX Edition is a triple-distilled single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The spirit matures in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then finishes in Pedro Ximénez hogsheads from southern Spain. It was the first release in Redbreast's Iberian Series and has since joined the regular range.
The nose offers figs, dates, plums, raisins and roasted cashews with restrained spice. The palate is rich and syrupy with a citrus edge, baking spice, honey and toasted oak, leading to a long, sweet finish of soft spice and dark fruit.
