Redwood Empire Lost Monarch Cask Strength (75cl, 58.6%)

Lost Monarch Cask Strength is a blend of straight bourbon and straight rye whiskey from Graton Distilling Company in Sonoma County, California. It is bottled at 58.6% ABV in a 75cl bottle, without chill filtration or water reduction. The components range from 3 to 12 years old. The bourbon is made from 74% corn, 20% raw rye, 4.5% malted barley and 1.5% wheat, while the rye is built on 94% rye, 5% malted barley and 1% wheat. The nose brings earthy tones, mint chocolate ice cream and a little honey. On the palate come mint, treacle and milk chocolate, with black pepper towards the back. The finish is warm and lasting, with dried apricot, white pepper and baking spices.
