Redwood Empire Rocket Top Rye is a five-year-old bottled-in-bond rye from Sonoma County, California, in a 75cl bottle at 50% ABV. Redwood Empire Distillery names its expressions after trees of the Northern California redwood forests.
The mash bill is 87% rye, 7% malted barley and 6% wheat, which makes it a wheated rye. Being bottled in bond, it comes from a single distillery and a single distilling season, and was aged at least five years in a bonded warehouse.
The nose has crème brûlée, bergamot and sage. The palate brings fig jam, caramel corn and pink peppercorn. The finish is long and creamy, with maple syrup, milk chocolate and allspice.
