Saburomaru Far East of Peat is a heavily peated Japanese whisky, a style that remains uncommon among the whiskies of Japan.
It takes its inspiration from the great smoky whiskies, in contrast to the more delicate styles usually associated with the country.
The nose is full of peat and smoke with a slight medicinal note, toasted grain and spice. On the palate the peat arrives quickly, backed by malt, smoke and spice in an ample texture. The finish is long, smoky and lightly salty.
