Sakurao 1st Release Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 54%)

Sakurao 1st Release is a Japanese single malt whisky bottled at cask strength, 54%, in a 70cl bottle. The casks that hold the malt take on a hint of the aroma of the nearby Seto Inland Sea. The whisky is a dark amber with a reddish tinge. The nose brings ripe grapes, orange and bitter chocolate. On the palate it is sweet, with vanilla, smoky undertones, subtle spice and moderate bitterness, followed by a woody, smoky finish with a deep sweetness.
