This is a ten-year-old single cask Islay single malt, bottled by Sansibar Whisky as The Clans Secret Islay. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021 at a cask strength of 52.8% ABV, with an outturn of 248 bottles.
The whisky matured in a Port cask, which adds a richer fruit character to the smoky, maritime style of Islay.
The nose is smoky malt with dark berries, dried fruit and a maritime note. The palate is full-bodied and warming, with peat smoke, red fruit, dark berries and oak spice. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, dark fruit and drying oak.
