Sazerac 18 Year Old is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, in a 75cl bottle. The 2020 release was distilled in spring 2002 and matured for 18 years and 4 months in new charred American oak, on the third floor of Warehouse K. It is bottled at 45% ABV after chill filtration.
Peppermint and menthol lead the nose, with rye spice behind. The palate offers semisweet Baker's chocolate, tannic oak, pine needles, cinnamon and cloves. The finish is long, with cedar, black pepper, vanilla and a note of Peppermint Patties.
