Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old is a Kentucky straight rye aged for 18 years at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. This is the 2021 release in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof, in a 75cl bottle. The name recalls the Sazerac Coffee House, established in New Orleans in 1850 and the birthplace of the Sazerac cocktail. The nose is oak, leather, molasses and allspice, with mint and eucalyptus emerging as it opens. The palate is cinnamon, vanilla and lingering pepper. The finish is long and warm, with mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla and pepper.
