Sazerac 18 Year Old is the straight rye of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and this is the 2022 annual release. Aged for 18 years at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, it is bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof, in a 75cl bottle.
The nose combines mellow spice and dry sweetness with oak, leather, molasses and allspice, and mint and eucalyptus emerge as it opens. The palate is bold and balanced, with cinnamon, vanilla and rye spice well integrated with the oak. The finish is long and warm, with mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla and lingering pepper.
