Sazerac 18 Year Old is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, in a 75cl bottle. This is the 2023 release in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, bottled uncut and unfiltered at natural barrel proof.
At eighteen years old, the rye is described as bold yet elegant, with its spice fully tempered by long maturation.
The nose is mellow, with spice, dry sweetness, oak, leather, molasses and allspice, and mint and eucalyptus emerge as it opens. The palate has cinnamon, vanilla and rye spice alongside deep oak. The finish is long and warm, with mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla and lingering pepper.
