Sazerac 18 Year Old is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. This is the 2017 release, one of the annual expressions in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, where it is the rye.
It spent 18 years in American white oak and is bottled uncut and unfiltered at cask strength.
On the palate there is mellow spice and a dry sweetness, with mature notes of oak, leather, molasses and allspice. The finish is long and warm, with hints of mint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, vanilla and lingering pepper.
