Scarabus is an Islay single malt bottled by Hunter Laing at 46% ABV, without colouring or chill-filtration. The name is that of a place on Islay, dating back to the 13th century and meaning 'a rocky place' in Old Norse. The look of the label draws on John Francis Campbell, who was born on Islay, invented the sunshine recorder and gathered a large collection of Celtic folk tales. Peat smoke and sea salt lead the nose. The palate brings warming leather, stewed rhubarb and vanilla sweetness, and the finish is rich and lingering.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
