Shindo Experimental 02

Shindo Experimental 02 is the second release in the Experimental series from Shindo Distillery in Japan. The series name reflects the distillery's view of itself as a humble challenger, offering the best expression it can make at a given moment. The whisky is a vatting of entirely non-peated spirits, drawn from 89% bourbon casks, 6% Oloroso sherry casks and 5% brandy casks. The more mature spirits in the vatting add breadth and depth to the sweet new make character at the centre of the distillery's whisky. Bright, estery aromas come first, followed by gently toasted dried fruit. A milky, fatty sweetness follows, with subtle toffee notes.
