Shinobu 10 Year Old is a lightly peated Japanese pure malt from the Shinobu distillery in Niigata, on the western coast of Japan. Master blender Usami Ken aged it for more than ten years in sherry and Bourbon hogshead casks.
It was then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak, which is known for apple, pear, clove and nutmeg flavours. The peat adds seaweed and smoky flavours. It is made without chill-filtration or added colour.
