Shinobu Shogun Malt Mizunara Wood Finish is a Japanese blended malt whisky made from a selection of malt whiskies. It is first matured in ex-bourbon oak casks, then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. The bottle is shaped to recall a samurai.
The nose combines vanilla, honey and baked apple with sandalwood, incense, coconut, candied citrus, toasted oak and white flowers. The palate is soft and silky, with vanilla and caramel, ripe fruit, orange peel, cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is long, with incense and oak.
