Contact S is the third whisky from Shizuoka distillery, a Japanese single malt that combines spirit from its ex-Karuizawa pot still and its wood-fired pot still. It matured for three years in first-fill bourbon and quarter casks, and 5000 bottles were produced at 55.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings apple juice, ripe mango, cream, caramel and buttered toast. On the palate come rich tea biscuits, stewed apples, croissants, caramel, sea salt, dark chocolate and black tea.
