Silvio Carta Rosso Sardegna Vermouth

A red vermouth from Sardinia, made without fortification. The base is Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva 2006, aged for 12 years in small Sardinian chestnut barrels. The wine is infused for two to three months with botanicals native to the island: helichrysum, myrtle leaves, thyme and artemisia. They are hand-picked from the Silvio Carta gardens and infused within minutes of harvest. Once the vermouth is separated from the botanicals, it is cooled to 14 degrees Fahrenheit for a month. The temperature then rises naturally before bottling.
