Silvio Carta Rosso Sardegna Vermouth

Silvio Carta Rosso Sardegna Vermouth is a red vermouth from Sardinia, made without fortification. Its base is Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva 2006, aged for 12 years in small Sardinian chestnut barrels. The base wine is infused for two to three months with botanicals that include helichrysum, myrtle leaves, thyme and artemisia. They are picked in the producer's own gardens and infused within minutes of harvest. The vermouth is then cooled for a month before bottling. It works in cocktails and as an aperitif, or neat.
