Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon is a high-rye bourbon from Nevada H&C Distilling Company in Las Vegas, bottled at 46.25% in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, and the spirit was distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
The barrels are moved to Las Vegas and racked only on the top two floors of the warehouse, where they are never rotated and see more of the desert heat. The bourbon is non-chill filtered.
The nose is caramel, honey and vanilla, with roasted pecans and baking spices. The palate is creamy, with toffee, caramel, rye spice, nutmeg and a little apple and tobacco. The finish is long and warm, with toasted oak and baking spice.
