Smokehead Rum Cask Rebel XLE is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky finished in rum casks. It is a limited edition of the Rum Cask Rebel, bottled at a cask strength of 58% ABV without chill-filtering, in a 70cl bottle.
The higher strength is intended to give the Islay malt extra intensity, and the rum finish makes for a bold combination.
The rum cask finish is described as bringing out notes of marshmallow and caramelised fruit.
