Sherry Cask Blast is a 2021 edition of Smokehead, an Islay single malt that has been finished in sherry casks. It is bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The character is built around strong peat smoke and sherry influence, which brings dark fruit and spice.
The nose is dense with smoke, raisins, dark fruit and spicy oak. On the palate the smoke continues, joined by chocolate, spices and a lightly sweet fruitiness. The finish is long, smoky and spicy, with a dry note and a lingering warmth.
