Stagg Jr Kentucky Straight Bourbon Batch 16 (75cl, 65.5%)

Stagg Jr Batch 16 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, released in summer 2021. The annual cask-strength series is named for George T. Stagg, and each batch is a unique barrel selection at its natural proof. This one is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 130.9 proof (65.45% ABV), in a 75cl bottle. It dates from the original Stagg Jr era, before the name was shortened to Stagg in 2022. The nose has cinnamon, burnt toffee and chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and powerful, with rich toffee and chocolate, and the finish is long and warming.
