Stagg Jr Batch 8 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, bottled at cask strength at 129.5 proof (64.75% ABV) in a 750ml bottle. The series takes its name from George T. Stagg, whose Frankfort distillery became Buffalo Trace.
It comes from barrels aged for nearly a decade at the Frankfort distillery, and is bottled without dilution or filtration.
The nose offers rich chocolate, caramel and bold rye spice, with hints of raisins and citrus. On the palate, sweet chocolate and brown sugar meet rye spice, with a full mouthfeel. The finish is long, with cherries, cloves and smokiness.
