Stagg Jr Batch 9 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, released in summer 2019 in a 75cl bottle. The name honours George T. Stagg, whose distillery became Buffalo Trace. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 65.95% ABV (131.9 proof), from a selection of barrels at their natural proof.
The appearance is a deep amber. The nose is rich and sweet, with chocolate, brown sugar and bold rye spice. The palate balances chocolate, caramel and brown sugar against rye spice. The finish is long, with cherries, cloves and smokiness.
