Stagg Batch 26C is an eight-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, made at the distillery in Frankfort. It was matured in new charred white oak barrels and bottled uncut and unfiltered at barrel proof, 62.3% ABV (124.6 proof).
Each Stagg release has its own strength, set by the barrels chosen for that batch. Batch 26C leans on chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruit, oak and rye spice.
The nose offers brown sugar, caramel, dark chocolate, ripe cherry, vanilla, seasoned oak and warm baking spice. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated, with molasses, charred oak, clove and bold rye spice. The finish is long and warming, with cherry, chocolate, smoky oak and pepper.
