Carl T. Huber's Blackberry Whiskey is a blackberry-flavoured American whiskey from Starlight Distillery in southern Indiana, in a 750ml bottle at 42% ABV. It blends bourbon with aged light whiskey and is made with blackberries grown on the Huber family farm, rather than with a liqueur base or artificial syrups.
The base spirit is made with sweet mash fermentation and distilled in a 500-litre pot still.
The nose is ripe blackberry with soft vanilla, toasted grain and a hint of jam. On the palate, blackberry jam meets bourbon caramel, with baking spice and a touch of oak. The finish is smooth and moderate in length, with berry sweetness fading to vanilla.
