Starlight Carl T. Huber's Old Rickhouse Double Oaked Rye is a cask-strength Indiana rye whiskey from Starlight Distillery in Borden, bottled at 53% in a 750ml bottle. It starts as a blend of two high-rye mashbills, one of 80% rye and 20% malted barley, the other of 90% rye and 10% malted barley, fermented by the sweet mash method. After full maturation, the whiskey moves into new heavy-toasted, lightly charred American oak barrels made to Starlight's own specifications. This second maturation adds dark vanilla bean and caramel. The nose offers cherry, fennel, dill and peppermint with clove. Grapefruit, orange peel, cinnamon and apricot jam show on the palate, and the dry finish carries ginger, pink peppercorn and chocolate-mint.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
