Starward Nova is an Australian single malt distilled in Melbourne at the New World Whisky Distillery from 100% Australian malted barley. It is bottled at 41% in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky is filled into Australian red wine barrels straight after they have been emptied, so the spirit takes up plenty of the wine's character. Melbourne's changeable climate speeds up maturation, and the whisky reaches maturity in roughly two to three years.
The nose offers red berries, orchard fruit, dark chocolate and soft oak spice. The palate shows chocolate and raspberry, then vanilla, caramel and baking spice. The finish is soft and clean, with red fruit and a little oak tannin.
