The Gospel Straight Rye is an Australian rye whisky that follows the American style. Its unmalted rye comes from Murray Mallee, a region of South Australia. The spirit is distilled twice and then matured for two years in Melbourne. The casks are new American oak, bought from a Kentucky cooperage and made from the wood of a single forest. Each cask is charred on the inside. The whisky is described as balancing the bright notes of rye with soft, vanilla-like touches from the oak.
