Stauning Bastard is a Danish rye whisky in a 70cl bottle, made from local ingredients that are floor-malted at the distillery and double distilled in pot stills heated by flame.
It spent a minimum of three years in new, toasted virgin American oak casks, then six months finishing in Mezcal casks from Mexico. That brings a little of the Mexican spirit into a Danish rye.
Its aftertaste is described as gentle and exotic.
