A Danish single malt from Stauning in West Jutland, made with malted barley dried over heather instead of peat. It was distilled in 2013 and 2014 and bottled in May 2019 at 48.7% ABV, in an outturn of 3,014 bottles.
The smoke is mild, delicate and sweet rather than heavy. The nose offers dark honey, apples and brown sugar, with light smoke, chocolate, tobacco and hints of wood and leather. On the palate there is barley, wood and smoked meat, followed by liquorice, chocolate, nougat, hazelnuts and vanilla from the cask.
