Stauning – Smoke Single Malt

Stauning Smoke is a smoked single malt from the Danish distillery Stauning. It is made from West Jutland malting barley, smoked over locally harvested peat and heather from the land around Ringkøbing Fjord. It is malted on an open floor and double distilled in small pot stills over open fire. It was matured for up to six years in first fill bourbon casks, first fill Madeira casks, Jamaican rum casks and new American oak. The nose shows mild open-fire smoke with citrus and honey. On the palate come tobacco, nuts, vanilla and fresh herbs.
