Stonestreet Founder's Edition is a Kentucky straight bourbon and the first bourbon release from the Stonestreet brand, which is connected to the Jackson family, known for winemaking and thoroughbred racing. It is a wheated bourbon, with wheat in place of rye as the secondary grain. The mash bill is roughly 70% corn, 21% wheat and 9% malted barley.
The whiskey spent a minimum of five years in new charred oak barrels, and this first release came from 131 barrels. It is bottled at 47% ABV.
The nose brings caramel, honeyed corn and vanilla bean, and the palate runs to baked peach, vanilla cream and toffee, ending on warm oak and a hint of toasted almond.
