Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese single malt from Yamazaki, the distillery founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture. It carries no age statement and is bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle.
It is a vatting of malts matured in four types of cask: American oak, sherry oak, Bordeaux wine casks and Japanese Mizunara oak.
The nose shows strawberry and cherry, floral blossom and sandalwood, with coconut and incense. On the palate come raspberry, white peach, honey and gentle cinnamon. The finish is medium, clean and sweet, with vanilla and dried berries.
