A 10 year old Talisker single malt, an official bottling at 45.8% ABV, dated to around 2009. The colour is full gold.
The nose combines peat and coal smoke with seashells, candle wax, apple peelings and a good deal of orange marmalade. On the palate the attack is strong, with smoke, smooth fruit and good body. Waxy, smoky oranges come with sweet mustard, salt, pepper and perhaps a little sage.
The finish brings candied lemons, peat, pepper and salt.
