An 11 year old Island single malt from Talisker, part of the 2022 Special Releases and bottled by the distillery at a cask strength of 55.1% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured in a mix of first-fill and refill ex-bourbon casks, with a few wine-seasoned casks added. It carries the name The Lustrous Creature of the Depths and has a deep, glowing gold colour.
The nose is maritime, with a beach bonfire of dry seaweed, then salty notes and marine engines over fresh linen. The palate is oily, sweet, smoky and spicy, with a fruity hint and a chilli pepper catch. The finish is long and lightly smoky, with lingering warm spice.
