This is Talisker 14 Year Old from the 2025 Special Releases, named Molten Seas and bottled at a cask strength of 53.9%. It comes from the distillery on the Isle of Skye, founded in 1830. The casks were toasted using heat from volcanic rocks from Skye, a method said to add mineral depth to Talisker's maritime character.
The nose is salted sea air and seaweed, then peppery smoke and a touch of citrus, with vanilla and charred wood behind. The palate is peppery, smoky and sweet with vanilla, and the finish is long, with salty freshness and lingering spicy warmth.
