This is a 1986 Talisker from the Distillers Edition, double matured and bottled at 45.8% ABV in a one litre bottle. The colour is straw.
The nose is mineral and vegetal, with newly cut grass, green tea and metal. With water it brings out apples, fresh pineapple, oranges, candle wax, wild flowers, herbs and butter.
The palate is very peaty and smoky, both earthy and maritime, with salted liquorice and smoked, salted and dried fish. The finish is very long and thick, on dried apples, liquorice and salt, with crystallised oranges in the aftertaste.
