Talisker – 25 Year Old 2022 Edition (45.8%)

Talisker 25 Year Old is a single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Skye, here in its 2022 edition at 45.8% ABV. It matured mainly in American hogsheads and European oak refill casks. The distillery stands on Loch Harport and was built in 1830 by Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. This release sets the coastal, salty and peppery character of the house against oak and delicate fruit. The nose brings salted banana pudding, sea spray, old oak furniture and red apple. On the palate are heather, salted caramel chocolate and smoked barley, and the finish has sweet volcanic smoke and more salted caramel.
