Talisker – 8 Year Old Diageo Special Release 2021

This is an 8 year old Talisker single malt from the 2021 Diageo Special Releases, a series that took the theme Legends Untold. The label shows the Rogue Seafury, a sea creature lurking beneath the smoky, mist-hung surface of dark waters. The story has it watching over its old home and giving the whisky its powerful, salty character. The nose is mild, with fine sweet hints and a maritime note. The palate is sweet and maritime too, with porridge oats, salted seaweed, crystal salt, iodine and earthy smoke. The finish is long, with a peppery tingle and plenty of smoke.
