This is an 8 year old Talisker single malt from the 2021 Special Release. Talisker stands on the shore of Loch Harport on the Isle of Skye, and this bottling uses selected peated casks. The colour is golden straw with greenish glints, and the body is medium.
The nose starts with porridge oats, then moves to seaweed, crystal salt and iodine over mountain smoke. Water softens it and brings out more of the maritime side.
The palate is soft and oily, salty and lightly sweet, with a peppery surprise and clear smoke. The finish is long, warm and smoky, with malt lingering in the aftertaste.
